This course has been badly mismanaged and maintained. It is now under new management and its on the way back, but it will take time for things to get back in shape. Most of the greens are in rather rather poor condition and the fairways are variable. Both are improving. The new management is pouring water on the course to try to improve the greens and fairways. The pro (Steve) in the pro shop is a friendly young guy who has his job cut out for him, but his personality will help to build a clientele once the grounds improve.

This is a classic Robert Trent Jones, Sr. design that was neglected to the point of rock bottom conditions. New management is in place that seems to grasp the diamond in the rough this course is and is taking steps to restore conditioning. It is a classic RTJ layout in a very lovely setting, no development on the course except golf course facilities. It was still early spring for that elevation and I expect after it warms up a bit that the course will begin to recover nicely with the maintenance attention it is receiving. I would recommend playing it both to support the recovery and to appreciate one of the great designers in the game.
